Tulle skirts are the ultimate chic style that so many fashion bloggers and street style stars love. There’s something about that exaggerated poof which just makes any outfit stand out and look feminine. It’s dramatic and it definitely gets you noticed. Tulle skirts can be quite awkward to style though, so you have to get it right or you can risk looking like a meringue cake at a wedding and that’s a look that nobody wants.
So, how do you style a tulle skirt and look chic? Well the best way to wear one is by taking inspiration from the Parisians. I’m talking about a cropped long sleeve top and some heels. There’s no better way to style a tulle skirt than showing a bit of skin between the waistband of the skirt and the hemline of your top. Be sure to pick a fitted top so it gives a slim silhouette as you will already have a lot of material on the lower half, so it needs to look sleek on top.
If you don’t feel comfortable wearing a cropped top, then make like these fashion bloggers below do and wear a longer one, tucked into the waistband of the skirt. As long as it’s tightly fitted and long sleeved, you will look amazing. I think these 4 outfits here are beautiful. I especially love the black and white contrast and I love the solid colours below.
So, once you have the base set, it’s time for the shoes and accessories! The more jewellery you use here, the better. I find statement necklaces and lots of bangles work a treat as they really glam it up and give it that feminine touch. For a bag, you definitely want to opt for a clutch as the simplicity and smaller size of it wont overwhelm the ensemble and for shoes, you definitely want some pointed, high heels or open toed sandals. If you can find a girly pair with ribbon like below, that’s a winning situation, if not, a simple pair of plain ones will suffice! Finally, if you want to go the extra mile, throw on some oversized sunglasses and you are all set!
